Personally, I have a problem with this train of thought. Don’t understand me wrong - there is nothing wrong with experiencing new countries and cultures for a while or gaining overseas working experience, but it’s the immigrating that has me upset.
I agree, South Africa isn’t moonshine and roses
issues, whether it be political, economical, social, etc. But doesn’t EVERY country have that? South Africa is a Third World country, but look at what happened in England this past week, a First World country. Our people strike and burn tires, but the English break, burn and hurt their fellow Englishman. There is war in the Middle East, starvation in Somalia. Australia and New Zealand is being hit by earth quake after earthquake.
Greece and France has VERY hectic strikes.
hurricanes. And so it goes on …
South Africa, although not perfect, is in my opinion the most beautiful country in the world. We have mountains, sea, vineyards, the karoo, the farms, the West Coast, the Garden Route, the N1 Highway, the history, the City of Gold, the Mother City, the sunsets, the sunrises, the night-life, the day time and best of all … the people.

My point being - South Africans, you know what have; you don’t necessarily know what you will be getting.
