Can you remember what you did as a child? I was a complete Tom Boy. I was the only girl in our street and the youngest, so I had great fun running around like one of the guys! (Ahh … those were the days!) I cycled, played hide and seek, cricket, soccer, tennis, rollerblading, swimming, climbed trees, etc. I also had my own imaginary world – no, I was not disturbed; I just liked imagining me being a Princess. I loved playing outside!
Nowadays it seems like this innocent, fresh aired fun has faded. It’s all about electronics and gadgets, cellphones and games, drinking and drugs and all other sinister things!! They have Cellphones, Playstations, X-Boxes, Laptops, TV sets in their rooms, DVD’s, Series, Computers, Computer Games, I-Pads, I-Pods and even MORE I don’t even know off!!
Do these kids even leave the house?! What happened to plain old outdoor activities? Can this be leading to all the health issues and obesity of young children? I certainly think so.
My opinion – kids should spend at least 2 – 3 hours playing outside every day. Outdoors is such a great recreational activity, we can’t afford to loose it.
